I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
Psalm 122:1
At Trinity, our one book 8:00 am
service and comprehensive 10:30 am service bulletin make worship easily
accessible for all. Give us a try!
The basis for our shared worship
experience,
and the order of service (or liturgy) we
follow comes from the
1979 Book of Common Prayer and 1994 Book
of Occasional Services.

Sunday Morning Worship Options
8:00 AM Holy Eucharist
Rite I
A quiet, contemplative
service centered in Word and Sacrament that lasts from 45 to 60
minutes. Christian Education for all follows at 9:15 AM.
Especially well suited
for those who experience the Holy Spirit best through readings, prayer
and Holy Communion; and for those who enjoy the intimacy of a smaller
worshipping community where silence and the spoken Word invite us into
deeper relationship with God.
10:30 AM Holy Eucharist Rite
II
A spirited service with
contemporary language, a special Kid’s sermon and compelling music of
various genres. Through our comprehensive bulletin, we eliminate the
need for juggling skills and/or wondering what comes next.
Worship is enhanced by
engaging sermons that have modern day relevance, an adult choir, The
Trinity Singers (our younger voices), a hand bell choir and
instrumentalists, Holy Communion and Coffee Hour in the Narthex (rear
church foyer) or on the Lawn.
Our kids play special
roles as acolytes, readers, oblation bearers, junior ushers and
greeters. We provide Nursery Care and a new sound system that allows
you to hear the service even when leaving the church nave is necessary.
10:30 AM Morning
Prayer with Healing Rite - First Sundays except Holy Days
Morning Prayer invites us into deeper intimacy and
conversation with God through the balance it strikes between penitence
and praise, hearing and responding, supplication and thanksgiving.
At Trinity, this service includes the singing of psalms and
hymns of praise, the reading of Scripture, a teaching on spiritual
growth, corporate prayers for the healing needs of the Church and the
world, the laying on of hand for healing, and the Offertory.
The Laying on of Hands
for Healing:
The ministry of Jesus invites us to new life
in God and with each other. In following the example of Jesus and the
disciples, we continue God’s work of healing through prayer in his name
and the laying on of hands. All are invited to offer themselves,
whatever the sickness of spirit, mind, or body, and ask for healing and
wholeness in the Name of the holy and undivided Trinity.
If you desire prayer but cannot or choose not to
attend, please contact Edna Keith by sending an email to the church
office at
info@tecarl.org.

Summer Worship on Sunday
Morning
8:00 AM Holy Eucharist
Rite I
A quiet, contemplative
service centered in Word and Sacrament that lasts from 45 to 60
minutes. Christian Education for all follows at 9:15 AM.
10:30 AM Holy Eucharist
Rite II
Uplifting service with
sermons that captivate and invigorating congregational singing. Our
kids enjoy “Buckets of Fun” containing gospel based activities and games
that teach during the service. Nursery care provided.

Mid-Week Worship Opportunities
4th Thursdays Holy
Eucharist Rite II (Chapel)
An informal and intimate service with scripture reading,
homily, prayer and Holy Communion. This service is followed by the
monthly Ethel Field Guild Meeting with lunch and preparation for mailing
of Trinity’s Tidings newsletter. All are welcome.

Our
Commitment to You
We consider visitors to be our respected and welcome guests.
You will not be singled out nor asked to stand before the congregation
or come forward. One way we welcome everyone occurs during the
“Peace.” Everyone is asked to stand as they are able and to extend the
Peace of God to one another.
At Trinity this is an enthusiastic time of greeting and
welcome. Some will say “the peace of the Lord be with you,” to which a
typical response is “and also with you.” Many simply will shake your
hand, say hello . . . or peace . . . or welcome. We thank you for
choosing Trinity and pray you find us a warm and welcoming place.

The Church
Year
|
The Episcopal Church observes the traditional Christian
calendar.
The season of Advent, during which we prepare for Christmas,
begins on the Sunday closest to November 30. Christmas itself (December
25) lasts twelve days, after which we celebrate the feast of the
Epiphany (January 6).
Lent, the forty days of
preparation for Easter, begins on Ash Wednesday and culminates with the
week that precedes our Easter Day celebrations, Holy Week.
Easter season lasts
fifty days, concluding on the feast of Pentecost. Trinity Sunday,
celebrated the Sunday after the Day of Pentecost, is Trinity’s Name Day.
Each season is
accompanied with a change in liturgical colors and thematic focus.

Services Celebrating
Key Life Events
Baptism, Marriage,
Death and Burial are important sacramental moments in the life of
individuals. For detailed information on how we at Trinity shape
worship for these special occasions, click here to link to
Life Events.

Holidays and Special
Observances
At Trinity, we take great delight in observing Holy Days and
in making ordinary occasions extraordinary. A sampling of typical
special worship services follows.
Holy Eucharist with Hymn Sing
We love the old,
familiar hymns of Christian tradition. On occasion, we offer a worship
service that celebrates the articulation of our faith story in both word
and song. Throughout the service, we sing favorite hymns from the
Hymnal 1982, Lift Every Voice and Sing II, and Wonder, Love and Praise.
In addition, the Celebrant and lectors share with the congregation bits
and pieces of the story behind the hymns that have won our hearts. This
service includes Holy Communion and a brief reflection.
Blessing of the Animals
|
 |
Dogs, cats,
hamsters, gerbils, parrots, birds, ferrets, animals of all sorts and
varieties (with the exception of rodents and snakes – sorry), we take
and bless them all. In an outdoors (weather permitting) service open to
the community, animals and their owners receive special treats as well
as a chance to meet neighborhood friends.
This service
commemorates the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron Saint of
Animals, and typically is celebrated the Sunday following his October 4
Feast Day.

Thanksgiving Eve Service with Holy Eucharist Rite II
|
We celebrate the faithfulness of God with this Holy Eucharist service.
Past years have focused upon not our thanksgiving alone but God’s
thanksgiving for us as God’s beloved people.
We mark God’s promise that when we give, it will be given
unto us, by presenting worshippers with a token gift. Take a break from
Tom the Turkey and Thanksgiving Day preparations and join Trinity’s
clergy, lay ministers and choir in this service of praise and
thanksgiving. |

the 12 day Christmas season with a variety of services and special

eyes of our younger generation. Service includes Holy Communion and
singing familiar Christmas carols.
Christmas Eve Festival

Christmas Day Services – December 25
Christmas Eucharist
at Trinity Church, at 10:00 AM
Ash Wednesday Services, 12:00 noon and 7:00 pm
The season of Lent
begins by putting God’s people in mind of the message of pardon and
absolution set forth in the Gospel of our Savior, and of the need which
all Christians continually have to renew our repentance and faith.
This service invites
worshippers to “the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and
repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and
meditating on God's Holy Word. Persons who attend may opt to receive
the imposition of ashes.
Holy Week and Easter Services
Beginning with Palm
Sunday and continuing through Holy Saturday, Holy Week commemorates the
passion and suffering of Jesus Christ as he submitted himself to the
will of God to love until the end.
 |
Services are held
each day and/or evening. We customarily endeavor to remember the people
and places of Jesus’ time to gain inspiration and direction on how best
to follow Jesus our times of pain and suffering.
Past services have
included a Seder Meal, Tenebrae Sung Service, Stations of the Cross,
Maundy Thursday Eucharist, Maundy Thursday Foot Washing, Good Friday
Procession of the Cross, Good Friday Liturgy In Art and Music featuring
the Seven Lasting Words of Christ, and Holy Saturday Prayer Service
commemo-rating Jesus’ imprisonment in the tomb.
|
Holy Week culminates
with our enthusiastic celebration of the resurrection of Christ. In
Festival Eucharist services at Trinity, 8:00 and 10:30 am, we cry out:
“Alleluia, Christ is risen. The Lord is risen, indeed. “ With balloons
and flowers and streamers and Easter Egg Hunts, we rejoice in the
promise of resurrection that also is ours.
Pentecost Sunday
|
We celebrate the
birth of the Church and the Church’s receipt of a mission to reach out
into the entire world with the message of God’s love and redemption.
Service highlights include the use of multiple languages, the return of
our Alleluias, the presence of dove kites symbolizing the Holy Spirit
that was given at Pentecost, and an embrace of all peoples and nations.
This is the day to wear RED. This is a day to celebrate.

The
Worship Committee
So, who comes up
with this broad and diverse offering of worship experiences? The answer
often begins with you. You have an idea or desire that you express to
the Rector or Joanne Cummings, the Vestry Liaison for Worship, or a
member of the Worship Committee itself, and we begin a process of
consideration and planning that may culminate in a new service or way of
living into our Anglican heritage and cultural traditions.
The Rector chairs
the Worship Committee and has final say on all matters relating to the
spiritual cure of the parish, especially worship and liturgy. The
Committee works together to plan and offer worship services (1) that
help us all grow spiritually in faith and practice; (2) that embrace our
guests and make their experience of worship at Trinity as positive and
enriching as possible; and (3) that enable us to expand our ways of
understanding and experiencing God.
Contact Joanne Cummings, Vestry Liaison
for Worship, for additional information or to offer your suggestions and
praise.
