Mission
More and more families are seeking out
Episcopal Schools as their children reach school age. At Trinity
Episcopal Children’s Center (TECC), parents can find academic excellence
provided within a Christian framework designed to nurture the spirit of
the young, as well as the mind and body. We respect each student as a
child of God.
TECC’s mission is to extend the horizon
of all children beyond home into the community, to encourage parental
participation in the education and training process of children, and to
promote the joy of learning within the atmosphere of the Christian
Church.
Created by resolution of the Vestry of
Trinity Episcopal Church in May 1980, TECC’s origins trace back to the
1950's when a group of Trinity parishioners decided to provide day care
service for neighborhood and parish children. The Center is a
non-profit organization and missionary outreach ministry of Trinity
Episcopal Church.
|
 |
As such, TECC is under the general
supervision of the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church who also serves as
TECC Headmaster. Day to day operations are the responsibility of the
Center’s director while the Board of Directors of TECC and the Vestry of
Trinity Episcopal Church provide overall policy and management guidance.
|
TECC is affiliated with The National
Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES). For over 40 years, NAES has
provided guidance on effective leadership and governance for over 1,000
Episcopal schools as well as on how to retain Episcopal identity in a
wonderfully diverse and multi cultural world.
TECC is open to all children ages two
(toilet training not required) through five years, who may benefit from
the program, regardless of race, religion, nationality or creed.

Program
Highlights
v
An experienced,
dedicated teaching staff
The dedicated staff
of Trinity Episcopal Children’s Center is committed to providing a
healthy and nurturing environment in which your child can learn and
grow. Each staff member undergoes a combined Criminal History/Sex
Offender background check, a physical examination with TB screening, and
agrees to participate in a minimum eight (8) hours of professional
development training, workshops and/or classes every year.
v
A Developmentally
Oriented Thematic Curriculum
Using one theme per
week such as “Things that go: planes, trains and automobiles,” our
teachers devise daily lessons that introduce and reinforce concepts
using age appropriate activities.
v
Computer, Science and
Music Enrichment Classes and Phonics Reading Instruction
v
A Weekly Chapel
experience that respects the integrity of all faiths
Chapel is led by the
Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church who serves as Headmaster of TECC, the
Assistant Rector, or lay leaders of Trinity Church. Chapel leaders
emphasize biblical and universal moral values that expose students to
the Christian tradition while providing room for students to maintain
and develop their own religious beliefs.
v
Nutritious meals and
snacks prepared on site
v
A large, modern
outdoor playground with additional play areas inside the Center.
v
Special Holiday events
and seasonal celebrations for the whole family

TECC is open all year from 7:00 a.m.
until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of federal

Admissions Policies and
Procedures
$
TECC is licensed by the County of Arlington and the state of Virginia to

Board members for orientation within 8 weeks of enrollment.
$
A $125 non-refundable registration fee and first month’s tuition must be
paid in full prior to a child’s attendance. (The registration fee is
currently waived for the second child in the same family. A $25/month

$
Parents/guardians supply the school with the following completed forms:
Health/Immunization, Enrollment, Emergency Care, and field trip
permission slips.
$

Tuition fees are prorated for a partial month attended only at
enrollment. Tuition fees are not prorated for partial months attended
at withdrawal from TECC. Exceptions may be made for extenuating

Chapel
As an Episcopal School, the Trinity Episcopal Children’s Center has the
special privilege of providing a learning environment inspired by
Judeo-Christian values in which there is an appreciation of the
diversity and value of all religious traditions. We recognize that
God’s activity in the world is not confined to the Church and embrace a
willingness to listen critically and learn humbly from those whose
perception of God’s mystery differs from our own.
|
 |
One way we strive to encourage God
awareness and expose our students to foundational religious principles
is through a weekly 20 minute Chapel experience.
During Chapel, our children learn basic
concepts like God exists, love one another, help others and be
thankful. Through short stories and object lessons, they
hear about the Christian tradition as well as the love of God
made manifest in Jesus. |
They sing. They may ask questions if they desire. We invite parents
and guardians to attend Chapel at anytime and to contact the Rector of
Trinity Church if you have any questions regarding Chapel.
During the summer (last week of June through the last week
of September) we hold Chapel on the first Tuesday of the month only at
11:15 am.
