Trinity’s Mission of Welcoming Others into Worship, Study and Service:

Acolyte Corps is open to youth and adults alike, ages 10 and above. Acolytes light the candles, carry the cross or torches in procession, help the priest prepare for Holy Communion, and assist with baptisms, funerals and weddings.  Candidates must be baptized, attend services regularly and serve at the discretion of the Rector.

Altar Guild is a vital faith-filled ministry that prepares the Altar and worship space for all services at Trinity.  Members work one weekend four times a year with the assistance of another member. Members also assist during Holy Week, Christmas, weddings and funerals. Training provided.  Couples and families with older children especially welcome.

Lectors read assigned scripture lessons during worship. A strong, articulate voice and desire to bring Holy Scripture to life is required.  Open to all ages. Training provided.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs) administer the sacraments to persons receiving communion, most often as chalice bearers.  Must be 16 years of age, baptized, confirmed and regularly attend services.  Candidates are recommended by the Rector, approved by the Vestry and licensed by the Bishop.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEVs) take holy communion to those who are sick or otherwise homebound. LEVs reminds us all that Christians are one body because we share one bread, one cup.

Ushers open the church building for worship, greet arriving worshippers, distribute bulletins, aid people in finding a place to sit, orient newcomers to the church and collect the offering. Training is provided.  Ushers typically serve once a month.

Greeters arrive 15 minutes prior to the worship service to welcome all persons, especially newcomers, and make important introductions to the clergy and other members.  Ideal role for people who love to smile and make others feel at home.

Nursery Care is provided for infants and toddlers (ages 3 and under) during the 10:30 a.m. service by qualified care givers.  Children who are not comfortable in the nursery are welcome in worship.

The Pew Bag Ministry provides bags filled with items to occupy the young attendees of our worship services.  As needed, volunteers refill bags with books, crayons, pencils, and lectionary based games by age groups.

Coffee Hour Volunteers & Special Event Planners – On first Sundays and special holy days, volunteers help set and clean up the beverages and light refreshments for coffee hour after the 10:30 service.  Another team plans festive events such as our Annual Bishop’s Visit Reception, Easter Sunday Brunch, Annual Parish Picnic and Potluck Luncheons. Only prerequisite is a love of hospitality.

Newcomer Welcome Ministry continues Trinity’s personal connection to those who visit by responding to each newcomer who wants to know more about Trinity. Volunteers share information about upcoming events and help our newcomers get to know others in community.

Music Ministry – We love music at Trinity!  Our Adult Choir rehearses at 7:30 pm on Thursdays and again at 10 am on Sunday morning.  Our Handbell Choir rehearses on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.  With the exception of a summer break, the choir sings each week.  The Handbell Choir and other instrumentalists enhance our worship as scheduled by the Minister of Music. Our youth and children provide music for special services.  All are welcome. Formal training not required.

Christian Education for all ages meets most Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:15.  Teachers and others are needed to support our Faith Trek education program for kids (grades K-5), for youth (grades 6-12) and for adults.  FaithTrek Kids use drama, art, cooking, movies, and music to help children explore Bible stories and begin to make connections between those stories and their own faith story.  FaithTrek Youth help young people gain strength for their journey towards adulthood as they experience together study, service and social activities. FaithTrek Adult forum topics change each season to allow parishioners to teach and address topics of interest.

Trinity’s Responsibility to be Good Stewards:

Stewardship starts at home and looks out to the world. These next ministries ensure that our giving and use of God’s gifts further Trinity’s mission “to welcome, reach out and care, so that all people may experience God’s love and celebrate God in Christ with us.”

Vestry members, elected annually to two year terms, cooperate with the Rector in promoting the spiritual welfare of the parish, extend hospitality to all, attend parish functions and transact all temporal business. Vestry members must be at least 16 years-old, pledge and be a communicant in good standing.

The Vision Committee recommends to the Vestry how best Trinity might live into its mission.  Current focus areas are (1) serving youth; (2) maximizing current building use; (3) land and property development; and (4) stewardship and member recruitment.  This group meets first Tuesdays at 7:00 pm.

The Finance Committee is appointed by the Rector and Vestry to oversee parish financial resources, to conduct the annual audit of all parish accounts, to coordinate with the annual stewardship campaign, to provide leadership in the budgeting process and to report monthly to the Vestry on the financial status of the parish. This Committee meets monthly on 3rd Tuesdays at 7 pm.

Sunday Tellers/Counters are Trinity members entrusted to count and record all offerings received during regular and special worship services.  Must be discrete and able to hold information in confidence.  Tellers/counters serve on a rotating basis.

Golf Fundraiser Committee oversees, organizes and conducts Trinity’s annual fundraiser to help pay for handicap accessibility improvements and support the CPCC.  The event typically occurs in May with regular meetings beginning six months before the fundraiser.

Grounds Beautification Team keeps our property looking its best all year around.  This committee works under the auspices of the Junior Warden to plant, prune, fertilize, water, rake and landscape our grounds.  As needed, members may do small cleaning or painting projects inside our buildings. If you love yard work and making God’s house shine, this team is for you.

Where do you fit?

If you seek a diverse community of faith that welcomes, reaches out into the world and cares for those inside and outside of the church, Trinity is the place for you.

We believe everyone has gifts of time, talent and/or treasure to share. Come help make a difference in your life and in the life of others.
