Samaritan Ministry Office

Meet Trinity’s newest next door neighbor and partner in ministry.  Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington is a community partnership bringing together homeless people and others in need in Greater Washington, with support and volunteers from many churches, in a joint effort to improve the lives of all.

Samaritan Ministry promotes awareness of the community’s needs, fosters partner-ships at all levels, breaks down barriers imposed by poverty, and develops participants’ abilities to help themselves to better lives.

The agency's Next Step self-sufficiency approach allows Participants to set life improvement goals for themselves and with the help of Samaritan Ministry staff, determine a series of manageable, specific tasks toward the fulfillment of those goals.  Services such as housing and employment counseling, coaching, motivation, and so much more are offered by our program.

The Northern Virginia office was established in May 1998 with the help of St. Mary’s, Arlington and other dedicated individuals. To this day, some of those dedicated individuals continue to help Samaritan Ministry on a regular basis. Beau Deitrich and Bob Satre have been the front office coordinators every Monday and Tuesday since May 1998.

 In the spirit of the Next Step program, the Northern Virginia office and Trinity Church took their own Next Steps to form a new partnership and establish a new beginning by moving the Northern Virginia office from 2924 Columbia Pike to 2207 Columbia Pike in November 2004.

Mother’s Union Branch of Trinity Church

The Mother’s Union Branch of Trinity Church officially became affiliated with Trinity on September 26, 2004.

The goals of objectives of Mother’s Union are (1) to strive to advance Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life; (2) to uphold Christ’s teaching on the nature of marriage and strive to promote its wider understanding;

(3) to encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church; and (4) to maintain a world-wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer.

All are welcome – married and single, young and old, of every ethnicity and race – to join in this vital ministry and work.

Since its formation in September 2003 at Trinity, this Mother’s Union Branch has been an active and meaningful participant in the life of Trinity Church.  Among other things, the group has sponsored an international food fair; supported by their active attendance Trinity’s Intercessory Prayer Group ministry; led one of our Lenten Wednesday night seminar sessions; and, worked hard to find a place in enhancing Trinity’s Outreach efforts to the Columbia Pike community.

As an affiliate of a member church of The Episcopal Church USA, the Mother’s Union Trinity Church Branch is loyal to the canons, doctrine, discipline and worship of Christ as this Church has received them; and respects, is guided by the pastoral direction and leadership of, and obeys the Rector of Trinity Church and other ministers who may have authority over them and their work.

Mother’s Union meets regularly on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 4:00 pm in Trinity’s Parish Hall.
