The Columbia Pike Community Chorus (CPCC)
was established in 2004 with a vision to provide an opportunity for
people of all ethnicities, belief systems and musical abilities to
come together with their neighbors in an experience that would
promote harmony, friendship and fun. Open to all, with or without
vocal training, the Chorus welcomes new and returning singers from
around the metropolitan area.
Since its inception, the CPCC has performed in
many concerts, including seven The World Sings... programs
of global music reflecting the ethnic diversity of this area; two
black Heritage Museum of Arlington benefit concerts, Songs of the
Soul and Changed My Name; An Evening With Amadeus with
the Arlington United Methodist Church orchestra; A Celebration of
Mozart with the McLean Youth Orchestra; Holiday on the Pike at
the Arlington Cinema 'n' Drafthouse; the first annual Taste of
the Pike international festival; A Place for YOUth, a
Children's Defense Fund benefit; the Christmas portion of
Messiah; Music from the Best of Broadway; and Songs of the
People. They have had as their guests the Washington-Lee High
School Madrigals, the Arlingtones Barbershop Chorus and many area
soloists and instrumentalists.
